Mostra Extra
Temporary installation at Extra Art Cafè, Rome.
Emotion today more than ever is an element of primary importance in the project:
no longer limited to the sphere of art, it determines the ways of life and communication.
In the installation of the exhibition “our first 3 years” we wanted the “staging” of the objects, works, images to arouse “emotions”, of whatever type they were. The intention was to increase visual pleasure and the subsequent desire to get closer to the images, to be able to help understand and therefore become a guide, a support for the transmission of content.
It is an installation that is a key to understanding due to the fact that it has been the means of communication of itself. Even more often, temporary installations are beautiful but ephemeral events, destined to disappear immediately after the time for which they are programmed.
The addition of the spatial element suggested by the exhibition environment allows the decontextualization of the visitor who becomes involuntarily more receptive and is able to better retain the message.
The exhibition is divided into two sections. The first is dedicated to architecture and design projects (marked by the taut rope threads) the second is dedicated to prototypes (marked by the suspended meters). The documentary material is displayed in the first section at human height intersecting very simple taut rope threads that ensure a correct reading of the images themselves.
The caption relating to the images is inserted directly between the ropes, marking each work. The plan shape of the exhibition project is functional to the individualized reading of the individual projects. The lighting, a prominent element of the project, is studied in relation to the particular material used: beams of light coming from above illuminate the taut ropes from the inside, creating a suggestive backlight that lightens the entire structure.
