Gymnasium

Steel. Concrete. Glass.

Steel to support.
Concrete to contain.
Glass to see and glimpse.
Sheet metal to cover.

The Multipurpose Sports Center as a green ribbon container of movement aimed at redeveloping and enhancing the portion of public area, currently in disuse, benefits the entire city of Ladispoli with minimal environmental impact.

The project is very clear: through a unitary design, made of decisive and regular geometries, it manages to dialogue with the surroundings and to tell the spaces and functions contained outside.

The openings, apparently random, are in fact due to communicate with the context and to allow, at the same time, a total view of the landscape from every room.

The shape of the building itself is based on a system of distribution of spaces capable of responding to organizational, safety and well-being needs and maximum flexibility to accommodate the changing needs in the field of Artistic Gymnastics sports activities.

The structure, partly prefabricated in reinforced concrete and partly in steel pillars and lattice beams (gym area), with a green insulated corrugated sheet roof to communicate with the adjacent park, has only one floor above ground.
Particular attention is paid to the use of renewable energy sources, providing, on the roof of the fitness area, a surface of 720 m2 occupied by photovoltaic panels, thus making the structure self-sustaining.
