Bianco+Nero
The stool is made of beech plywood stained black and white (or just white).
The choice of black and white is “a pure homage” to the “Superleggera” chair by Giò Ponti. In fact, to make the seat even lighter than it already was, Ponti had painted some parts black so as to make them disappear, to cancel them out.
The intent is to lighten the structure so as to feel cradled and apparently suspended.
The lateral crosspieces are staggered and have irregular geometries, the front ones serve as footrests.
The two handles carved into the seat serve to give the push to the “swing” or to keep oneself in balance (holding on with both hands) and finally to “hinge” the possible cushion.
